Scion Capital, a hedge fund that Michael Burry created, was run by him until 2008, when he chose to shut it down in order to concentrate on his personal interests. His most illustrious claim to fame is that from 2007 to 2010, he was one of the first investors to foresee and benefit from the subprime mortgage crisis.
