What to see in Bucharest in 24 hours
Hello!
I have a long layover in Bucharest coming up—basically one full day from morning to late evening. I want to feel the vibe of the city. Is the Palace of Parliament a must? It looks massive. I also want to try good Romanian food. How should I get around to see the most? Uber or Metro? Please help me plan a perfect "speed run" of the city so I don't waste time getting lost. Thanks! |

One day is short but definitely doable to see the main spots! The Palace of Parliament is impressive, but keep in mind the tour inside takes hours and needs a passport. If you are short on time, just seeing it from the outside Constitution Square is enough. For a fun way to see the highlights quickly without walking for miles, I'd recommend a Tuk Tuk tour or a focused walking tour of the historical center. We did a half-day highlights tour which was great to get the history. You can check options and click here to see the different city tours available—some even include hotel pickup. Afterward, walk down Calea Victoriei for the architecture and stop at "Caru' cu Bere" for food—it's touristy but the interior is stunning. If you have time left, a quick stop at the Carturesti Carusel bookstore is great for photos! 📸 |
