Why I chose the Ultimak mount over anything else
 

I was on the fence about optic mounts for my AK and did way too much research — side mounts, rail dust covers, weird clamp systems. But in the end I kept coming back to Ultimak. Main reason? Simplicity. It replaces the gas tube and sits super low, so it keeps the optic close to the bore. That makes target acquisition a lot quicker for me, especially when shooting on the move. I also like that it doesn't require removing anything when you clean the rifle. I’ve got it paired with a Holosun red dot, and I can still use my irons through the glass — clean co-witness. Been running this setup through a few classes and range days and the thing hasn’t lost zero once. Another bonus: it’s really lightweight. Doesn’t mess up the balance at all. Some people worry about heat from the gas tube but unless you're dumping hundreds of rounds fast, it's not a problem. ultimak keeps it tight, light, and reliable. Solid piece of gear if you ask me.
